Feedback Insights: See What Your Users Are Telling You

Turn a busy feedback inbox into trends, top pages, and AI-grouped themes with sentiment and representative quotes.

Qaid Team

Your inbox tells you what one person said. Insights tells you what everyone is saying — how much feedback is coming in, whether it's trending positive or negative, which pages generate it, and the themes running through it all. Instead of scrolling hundreds of items, you get the shape of your feedback at a glance.

Opening Insights

From your project, click Insights in the header (next to Quests and Settings). The page loads with your feedback already summarized — no setup, nothing to configure.

The Insights page: totals, volume over time, by-type, top pages, and AI themes

The overview

At the top, a row of tiles gives you the numbers that matter for the current feedback:

  • Total — how many items you've collected
  • Positive and Negative — the sentiment split from thumbs-up vs thumbs-down
  • Escalated — how many were flagged by your escalation rules
  • With screenshot — how many arrived with visual context

Below the tiles are three charts that answer where and when:

  • Daily volume — feedback over time, so you can spot spikes after a release or an outage
  • By type — the breakdown across positive, negative, and other feedback types
  • Top pages — the URLs generating the most feedback, so you know where to look first

AI themes

The numbers tell you how much; the AI Themes section tells you what about. Click Regenerate with AI and Qaid reads your recent feedback messages and groups them into themes — each with:

  • a count of how many items mention it,
  • an overall sentiment (positive, negative, or mixed), and
  • a couple of representative quotes so you can hear it in your users' own words.

This turns a wall of individual comments into a short, ranked list like "Checkout errors (12, negative)" or "Loves the new dashboard (7, positive)" — the difference between reading feedback and understanding it.

Themes are generated on demand and kept until you regenerate, so the page stays fast. Run Regenerate with AI again whenever you've collected enough new feedback to want a fresh read. The analysis covers your most recent feedback, so it always reflects what's happening now.

Self-hosting Qaid? AI theming uses your configured Anthropic API key. If none is set, the charts still work — only the AI Themes section stays empty.

Drilling down

Insights is a starting point, not a dead end. Click a type or a theme to jump straight to your feedback inbox filtered to exactly those items — read the individual reports, reply, assign, or open a fix from there. The summary points you at the problem; the inbox lets you act on it.

Best practices

Check it on a cadence. A weekly look at Daily volume and AI Themes catches emerging problems while they're small — a theme climbing from 2 to 20 is a signal worth acting on early.

Regenerate after releases. Ship something, wait for feedback to land, then regenerate. New themes appearing right after a release usually point straight at it.

Follow the top pages. If one URL dominates Top pages, that's where your users are struggling most — a high-leverage place to invest.

Pair it with escalation. Insights shows the trend; escalation rules catch the individual urgent items in real time. Use both — the wide view and the tripwire.

Pro feature

The charts — totals, daily volume, by-type, and top pages — are available on every plan. AI Themes require a Pro plan: on the free plan you'll see the aggregate charts and an invitation to upgrade for AI theming. If a Pro project is downgraded, its charts remain and only the AI analysis is paused.
